From, "Gloremay Ann O. Aleman, ang inyong presidente sa darating na halalan" to "I'm Gloremay Ann Aleman, your host for today" and I think that's a blessing.
Facing a crowd, talking to people - It really was one of my fear before but I told to my self, life is really short, we were born not just to exist but to find the reason why we live and one of it was to conquer our fear and be happy surpassing that fear.
Ever since high school, in every group activity or group works I am always assigned as the group leader or secretary. And as a leader, what I always do is lead my group mates; assign them what they should do or if there's a role playing, I will assign who will portray this character and so.
I was known as a group leader, the one who will lead and guide not who will play the game on actual. With that, seeing my group mates do their work, developing their self confidence made me realize, "I am their leader and yet they're more confident than me; they have more potential than me". "Was I a good leader if I'm just letting my people play the game? Or was I a leader?".
With this thought, I realized that I should stand up for my self and for the people who believed and will believe in me. I should go out of my safe zone, develop my interpersonal skills and become a leader that a good leader must be.
To make the long story short, I found an opportunity, I offer my self, I became a master of ceremony for the first time. It happened in my third year level in college and the day after the results came out for the election of CE-DSC. I didn't win the position, but I gain other interpersonal skill. I found another purpose for me.
I didn't thought of myself being a host of an event, facing a crowd, hyping them up, because I know I am anxious as hell. But then again I thought to myself - I actually roam around the school, did a room-to-room campaign, persuade people to trust and vote for me, what would hosting do for me, right? So I try and took a risk.
After my first hosting which was for the CE day calculator technique seminar, my first partner was Engr. Gerome Aruta.
He was known as a professional host in our department and school as well so it really was an honor and privilege for me to affiliate with him as his co-host. And during our hosting, we were having our own career and life talk which makes me push myself to pursue this field.
I together with my partner, Bryan Sayson would consider our hosting experience in CE General Assembly for the academic year 2019-2020 our big break in this field because after this, a series of hosting opportunity came before us and in me alone. All thanks to Kuya-Pres Keannel Leop for giving us the opportunity and trust to do so.
.
These hosting opportunities are as follows:
CEA Model 2019 Pre-pageant with my partner CJ from the Department of Industrial Engineering.
First ever CEAwan 2019 with my partner, Bryan Sayson.
First Seminar and Induction rites 2019 of American Concrete Institute of the Philippines, TIP-QC Student Chapter with my partner Mark Felix Dela Cruz.
First ever Get together of Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers - TIP QC Student Chapter together with my beautiful partner, the crowning Ms. CEA Model 2019, Alessa Cube.
My last hosting opportunity for the year 2019 was the annual celebration of Night of Lights and Carols in TIP-QC together with my partner, kuya Chris, graduate from the Department of Architecture.
To all those people who gave me this kind of opportunity and continues on inviting and trusting me on their event, Thank you!
